Emergency Response Project for Protection from Gender-Based Violence – South Kordofan :

ZAD Organization for Development implemented an Emergency Response Project to protect communities from Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in South Kordofan State, in partnership with GOAL Global and funded by the European Union, in coordination with the Ministry of Social Welfare and Development. The project targeted Abu Jubeiha and Abu Karshola localities, aiming to strengthen community protection mechanisms and reduce risks associated with gender-based violence, particularly among women, girls, and children.
The project delivered a range of integrated activities, including coordination meetings, community awareness sessions, capacity-building trainings, distribution of dignity kits for girls and children, child-friendly recreational activities, and psychosocial support initiatives. It also supported the establishment of community protection networks, youth clubs, and local initiatives designed to promote safety and resilience.
Through these interventions, the project contributed to increased awareness, stronger local protection systems, and a safer environment for vulnerable populations.
